For Maximising Neuroplasticity And Reversing Alzheimers Disease

Neuroplasticity
At Work
Neuroplasticity is the brain's ability to reorganise itself by forming new neural connections throughout life, allowing us to learn new skills, recover from injuries, and adapt to changes.
Neuroplasticity is a naturally occuring phenomena and is the basis for reversing all forms of dementia where the disease has not advanced beyond a certain point

About Alzheimer's
Alzheimer's disease is a progressive neurological disorder that leads to the shrinkage of the brain (atrophy) and death of brain cells. It is the most common cause of dementia—a term used to describe a group of symptoms affecting memory, thinking, and social abilities severely enough to interfere with daily functioning. Alzheimer's disease accounts for 60-80% of dementia cases, profoundly impacting millions of families worldwide.

The disease is named after Dr. Alois Alzheimer, who, in 1906, first described the telltale plaques and tangles in the brain of a woman who had died of an unusual mental illness. These plaques and tangles are now recognized as hallmark features of Alzheimer's, along with cell damage and neuron death that impair a person’s ability to remember, think clearly, and make decisions.

Alzheimer's disease progresses in stages, from mild (sometimes unnoticeable) memory loss to severe, incapacitating dementia. Early signs include difficulty remembering recent conversations, names, or events, which can escalate to more profound memory loss, confusion, disorientation, changes in behavior, and difficulties speaking, swallowing, and walking in its advanced stages.

The cause of Alzheimer's disease is not fully understood, but it is believed to result from a combination of genetic, lifestyle, and environmental factors that affect the brain over time. Currently, there is no cure for Alzheimer's, but there are treatments available that can temporarily slow the worsening of symptoms and improve the quality of life for those with Alzheimer's and their caregivers.

At Neurogenics Memory Clinic, we are dedicated to understanding this complex disease and offering hope to those affected through our innovative approach combining functional medicine and functional neurology. Our goal is not just to manage symptoms but to address the root causes of cognitive decline, providing a more personalised and comprehensive care plan for each individual.
Why Consult With Us ?
Our clinical and educational services are among the most advanced anywhere.
Full Symptoms Analysis
A proper diagnostic work up for memory loss should include an analysis of not only brain related symptoms but also adrenal function, thyroid function, the sex hormones, gut and liver function and lifestyle factors such as sleep, exercise and brain activity. They all have a tremendous impact on the brain and memory.
Laboratory Support
Laboratory analysis from blood, urine and saliva can provide invaluable information as to what is causing or influencing whole brain and memory issues. Brain scans provide highly detailed additional information regarding brain structure and function.
